We are the owners of Knife River Place and we are honored that you are checking our venue out! We happen to be former high school sweethearts- so our own love story began many years ago. After college, we were married and blessed with 3 children. Our 25+ years of marriage have strengthened our teamwork and love for hosting meaningful events that draw people together.
Our Vision
As followers of Christ, we seek to use our venue to celebrate the beautiful union of a man to his wife just as Christ is united with his church. This creates an opportunity for us to stand by the bride and groom in support of the loving commitment they make to one another. Ultimately, we hope to see our venue used to bring glory to God's name through joyous celebration.
OUR PROPERTY'S HISTORY
Back in 2009 when our kids were ages 3, 5, and 7, we purchased acreage along the Knife River to share our love of the outdoors together. We pursued cherished family time to recreate, explore, fish, hike, hunt, ski, snowshoe, and camp along the river banks and in the woods. As an extended family, we have picked a lot of rocks… and we have planted over 14,000 trees on the property. Together, we have blazed many hiking and ski trails. In 2014 the family’s log cabin was built and shortly after that we rebuilt the old milk barn from the ground up, repurposing a lot of the old barn wood by incorporating it into the cabin. The old stone milk house out front of our big red barn remains an original. 2022 marked the newest addition to the south side of the barn and made our Knife River Place venue a dream come true, complete with modern day amenities. The Heppner family has put in blood, sweat, and tears into this special place. We consider the property a joyous gift to be shared and we desire to welcome you and your guests to our little slice of heaven. We are passionate about marriage and family. We desire to encourage and serve others by allowing
them a place for peace, renewal, and a breath of fresh air. It is our hope that we can host a fun, meaningful, and memorable day that you can cherish for a lifetime.
